WHAT I WOULD DO AS MAYOR - DONCASTER FIRST
I would be a completely different Mayor to our current Mayor. Let me explain.
I really don’t know what our current Mayor does. She may work very hard but how would we know? We know she doesn’t go into the city centre much. I also know she works from home a lot having been in various zoom meetings with her over the years when I was an MP.
I see the Mayor’s role as one of leadership. Having a Cabinet of the best people regardless of their party politics. Connecting with the community. Working with council staff. Visiting every part of the borough. Meeting with those in the market and in other businesses. Getting out there. Setting an example. Making sure that promises are kept. Being on top of projects to avoid delays where possible. Proactive not reactive. Positive not negative. Taking opportunities. Every day.
We can change things. We really can. With your help we can #MakeDoncasterGreatAgain. On May 1st we have that chance. We can put Doncaster First and make our city centre safe and welcoming again.
