Last week, I attended the Doncaster Business Showcase at the Racecourse, just as I do every year (picture taken last week): https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1F87Jpi1PY/
It is a brilliant event showing the richness of the great businesses we have here locally - providing local jobs and serving our community.
As the new Mayor, supporting businesses like these will be a key priority - large, medium and small.
It is why I am pledging to make parking free for two hours in every council-run car park. Why we need our high streets and our city centre vibrant again and why we need to be positive about our prospects.
The current Mayor has presided over the closure of the Airport, the Railway College, Debenhams, House of Fraser and many other shops and businesses. M&S say they are also moving out of the city centre later this year. She has done nothing to bring in new jobs for us.
As one local person said on my Facebook Post: "I thought doing business was illegal in Donny, Ros Jones & co seem to be doing their best to eradicate it."
I am a local businessman and know how to attract jobs and new businesses.
Electing me as our new Mayor gives our children a future to look forward to. Local jobs, prospects and hope. And we need thriving businesses to achieve that.
